Transformation of the political system, that took place in Poland at the turn of the 1980s and 1990s, has also embraced the transformation of the apparatus of the intelligence services of the Polish People’s Republic. The most important goal of these changes was to create such a model of the system of intelligence services, in which they would become an important component of the country’s security apparatus, functioning in accordance with the rules of democracy and law.
