Stelios Fenekos (Rear Admiral (ret), Hellenic Navy)
Stelios Fenekos is Senior Advisor in the Research Institute for European and American Studies (RIEAS). He is a retired Rear Admiral of the Hellenic Navy. He concluded his career as a member of the Supreme Naval Council, having served extensively in operational, command, and staff positions both in Greece and within NATO. He is currently the President of the Alexandros Papanastasiou Institute of Political and Social Sciences (IN.A.P.) and Chairman of the Scientific Board of the international forum G3 Foresight Forum.
His academic background includes studies in:
- Greece: Hellenic Naval Academy; Naval War College (Strategic Studies); and an MSc in International Politics, Strategy, and European Studies from Panteion University.
- United States: Foreign and National Policy, Decision Making, Strategy, and Defense Planning at the U.S. Naval War College (Rhode Island).
- Harvard Kennedy School of Government: Executive Program in Foreign Policy in Eastern Europe.
- United Kingdom: Crisis Management Course at the Maritime Tactical Centre (Portsmouth).
Stelios Fenekos is the President of the Alexander Papanastasiou Scientific Institute is an independent think tank dedicated to advancing knowledge in fields such as geopolitics, geostrategy, and geoeconomics.
