1. Abstract

Development is an all-encompassing process of a number of activities taken at sub-national, national and global levels to improve the quality of life and standard of living of people. For it to be perceived in an apt framework, one has to examine the progress, both qualitative and quantitative, on a time scale. Hence, the development relates itself to the generation living during that time period. The race to create more wealth and be more developed by harnessing nature has already caused intense strains on earth in form of depleting resources, high risks to lives and livelihood of present generation due to climate changes and a cause of grave concern to the future generations. Sustainable Development thus has become a buzz word replacing the concept of Development though it is in the overall domain of Development. Read more
